This book deals with all aspects of rubber processing: mixing, milling, calendering, extrusion,
and molding, as well as the testing and specification of raw materials, mixed compounds, and
finished products. It also covers the importance of rheology in rubber processing and combines basic
theory with its application in practice.
From the Preface: ...There have been a number of advanced texts produced on various aspects
of rubber processing, several of which are listed as references to Chapter 1. However, there has not
been a text aimed at people entering the industry who require an overview of the subject. This is such a
text and its emphasis is on understanding the processes involved. It is intended as an overview, but
the references to the literature will enable the interested reader to dig deeper into any specific topic.
Target Audience: Rubber manufacturing engineers, rubber technologists, production management,
and suppliers to the rubber industry.
