The fifth edition of this glossary, for the first, time, includes a CD-ROM version. But, in electronic
or print format, the concept remains unchanged since the first edition offer a word-for-word
translation without further explanation or interpretation. With this in mind, the user must be aware that
this glossary is no substitute for a concise technical dictionary. It is particularly valuable for a quick
translation of technical terms from a foreign language to the user's language. English, German,
French, Spanish, and Italian are covered.
From the Preface: “This revised and enlarged edition of the glossary contains 1795 words
connected with chemistry, properties, testing, and the technology of plastics; i.e., 15% more entries than
the previous edition. The editorial team incorporated only a limited number of new terms to make
sure that the glossary remains a quick-reference volume...”
Target Audience: Technical writers and translators, researchers, marketers, importers or exporters,
and other professionals who need to translate or understand plastics terminology in these five languages.
