This Festschrift documents the proceedings of the
First International Congress on Adhesion Science
and Technology, held in Amsterdam October 16-20, 1995 in honor of Dr. Kash Mittal on the occasion of
his 50th birthday. The 49 papers authored by a remarkable array of leading authorities in this
book address many different aspects of adhesion science and technology, with coverage of both
fundamental and applied issues. Recommended.
From the Preface: “...When we were ruminating over how to document the Proceedings, it
immediately became apparent that to chronicle the full written accounts of 235 papers would be
almost impossible. Therefore, we decided to include in this Festshrift only the invited presentations.
However, we thought, for posterity and to capture the full spirit of the Congress, it behooved us to list
the titles, names and affiliations of authors of the other papers. Concomitantly, this Festschrift
should serve as a full acta of this momentous occasion...”
Target Audience: Researchers, scientists, engineers, and upper level students of adhesion science
and technology.
