This is the first volume of an eight volume series which will comprise the most comprehensive adhesives and sealants handbook ever published. Overall, it will include some 80 chapters dealing with general information, theory of bonding and sealing, design of bonding parts, technical characteristics, chemistry, types of adhesives, application, equipment, controls, standards, etc. Industrial applications such as automotive, aerospace, building and civil engineering, electronics, packaging, wood, furniture, metals, plastics and composites, textiles, footwear, and more will be covered in detail.

Volume 1 of the series focuses on properties and testing of adhesives and sealants, polyurethane chemistry, surface pretreatment for structural bonding, and the technologies used in the electronics and aerospace industries.
