The fully revised and expanded two volume fourth edition of
Handbook of Industrial Surfactants provides detailed information on over 23,000 trade name chemicals and materials, as well as some
5,400 generic chemicals that function as surfactants or are used to manufacture surfactants. More than
50% of the entries in this edition are new or have been updated. The ionic classification index groups
the surfactants based on their principal solubilizing group, consisting of four major classes:
anionic, cationic, nonionic, and amphoteric, and their synergistic blends.
From the Preface: “...This two-volume reference set, in its fourth edition, serves to integrate
information on surfactant chemicals and materials that are presently available throughout
the world...Availability of a variety of surfactants from many different sources have added to the
complexity of the research and selection process. By providing information gleaned from thousands of
sources, this comprehensive reference is essential to all professionals involved in the surfactants field...”
